LIPOLYSIS   OR  LIPODISSOLVE®

REVOLUTIONARY NEW TREATMENT FOR CELLULITE AND REMOVAL OF FAT WITHOUT SURGERY!

Lipolysis injections are able to dissolve localized fat and reduce the appearance of cellulite through a series of painless injections with no downtime.  There are certain “problem areas” that are resistant to diet and exercise and now are able to offer you a non-surgical option in the office to treat these areas such as abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, back, arms, neck, and facial areas without a recovery period.  Lipolysis is a more reliable procedure for improvement in cellulite.

Lipolysis injections contain a natural substance, phosphatidylcholine, PCC found from soya beans and this same substance is also produced naturally by the body.  This natural substance along with vitamin complexes is injected with tiny needles into the fatty layer to promote the body to dissolve the fat cells and promote skin contraction.

Typically, results are seen at two weeks following the injection and the treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.  Larger areas on the body require 2-4 treatments for optimal results.  These injections take less than 30 minutes to perform.  Moderate swelling and bruising are noted for 3-5 days, but will not limit normal activities.

This technique has been proven safe and effective in thousands of patients.  Dr. Short has received her certification following thorough training sessions and she has had the lipolysis treatment herself.  Physicians should complete a training course before injecting patients and many, like Dr. Short, have joined the Network-Globalhealth.  This organization is designed to allow physicians around the world to share ideas and results as well as promote ongoing research to discover additional uses for this exciting technique. These advances may even include treatment of stretch marks.

LIPOLYSIS FAQ’S

1.  How does lipolysis injections reduce fat deposits?

A natural substance obtained from soya bean, PPC (phosphatidylcholine), along with vitamin complexes is injected with very tiny needles into the fatty tissue layer to promote the body to dissolve and break down the fat cells.  With this technique, the skin in the treated areas tightens or contracts following the injection.

2.  Can I lose weight with lipolysis injections?

Lipolysis injections are not intended as means of weight reduction but is a way of resolving unwanted localized deposits of fat i.e. neck, abdomen, especially the upper abdomen, inner thighs, upper arms axillae, nasolabial folds, jowls, neck and knees.  This is also a treatment for cellulite appearance to the skin also.

3.  Which regions of the body are especially suited for lipolysis injections?

Lipolysis is best suited for areas of soft localized fatty tissue deposits on the abdomen, facial areas, neck, inner thighs, back, and hips.  Lipolysis injections are also the mainstay treatment for areas of cellulite.

4.  Are the deposits of fat that are treated with lipolysis injections permanent? How long do the results last?

According to the literature, fat cells that have been dissolved do not return.  Your body regenerates fat cells two times during your life; once during birth and the other during puberty.  This means that the fat deposits are permanently reduced following treatment.  This is provided your weight remains unchanged.

5.  What are the special advantages of lipolysis injections?

Lipolysis injections achieve a permanent reduction in fat deposits, especially in those areas of the body that have a tendency to be resistant to diet and exercise.  The treatment is gentle, virtually pain-free, and low in risk, requires minimal downtime, and takes less than 30 minutes to complete the procedure.   This is a non-invasive, non-surgical option with no anesthesia to remove fatty tissue deposits and improvement of cellulite permanently.  Lipolysis also promotes skin contraction.

6.  How do I decide whether lipolysis injections or liposuction is a better treatment plan for me?

For many years, liposuction was the only means for removing accumulations of fatty tissue deposits.  But with the revolutionary new advancement of lipolysis injections, it has now become possible to remove localized areas of fat cells with minimum intervention and minimum stress to the body.  The main difference is that lipolysis is a non-surgical method of treatment, whereas liposuction involves a surgical procedure under anesthesia for removal of large areas of fat cells.  With the liposuction procedure, the fat cells disappear almost immediately.   Lipolysis injections allows for a slower change to the body contour, allowing the patients to see results over a gradual time period, several months and may require multiple sessions. Lipolysis injections are also ideal after liposuction in order to remove any remaining fatty tissue deposits and tighten the surrounding skin.

7.  How many treatments are necessary?

Typically, 2-4 treatments at intervals of 6 weeks are recommended.

8.  Is lipolysis treatments painful?

There are a few nerve fibers located in the subcutaneous tissues, but the injections are not painful.  Patients may experience a slight sensation of burning or itching for the first 2-3 hours after the injection but no pain medication is typically needed.

9.  What risks are involved with lipolysis injections?

Immediately after the injection, swelling and bruising may persist for 3-4 days.  Sensory sensitivity, itching, and mild redness may also occur.   No heat, ice, sunlight exposure or NSAID or Aspirin use is recommended following the treatment.  No hot tubs or saunas.

10.  Which patients are unsuitable candidates for lipolysis treatments?

Children, adolescents, and patients who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding are contraindicated for this treatment.  Also, patients who have severe immune disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, etc., severe renal or liver diseases, and certain types of diabetes would not be recommended this type of therapy.  Patients who are heavy smokers are not ideal candidates because they are at increased risk of complications with more limited post-operative results.

11.  What can I do to enhance the results of the lipolysis injections?

Prior to and after the treatment, drinking large amounts of water to stay well hydrated is recommended.  No sunlight exposure for 4-6 weeks to prevent hyperpigmentation or discoloration to the skin.  No smoking after the procedure because smoking can decrease blood flow to the treated area.  Monitor your diet with eating a low carbohydrate diet and avoiding eating late at night.  External ultrasound massage to the superficial skin layer of the treated area is recommended following the injection, twice a week for 3 weeks.
